Vaccine Policy Statement

Plainsboro Pediatrics is strongly in support of all childhood and adolescent vaccines. Our office follows the vaccination schedule recommended by American Academy of Pediatrics and the Centers for Disease Control. Vaccines, historically and in the current day, have saved millions of children’s lives and have tremendously reduced the burden of illness for millions more children for over a hundred years. Our office is dedicated to wellness and disease prevention in infants, children and adolescents, and an integral part of this is timely and appropriate vaccination.

Unvaccinated children pose a serious risk to vulnerable children and people that they may encounter in our waiting room such as newborns, the immuno-compromised and the elderly. At Plainsboro Pediatrics vaccines will be given according to the recommended schedule and alternative schedules will not implemented. This dedication to disease prevention and vaccination requires understanding and agreement by the physician-parent-child triad. We are a team and a shared philosophy and goal is crucial for the delivery of optimal healthcare for your child.

Families who completely oppose vaccination and/or are selecting only a few vaccinations for their children will not find Plainsboro Pediatrics to be the best fit for them and are encouraged to find a practice that shares their philosophy. However, if a child has been inadequately vaccinated in the past but would like to join our practice, we would be happy to accept as long as a catch-up-immunization schedule is discussed and implemented as quickly as possible.

Thank you for taking the time to read this important statement.

Sincerely, Dr. Rajan & Staff
